At Banyan Fields Primary School, we are proud to offer Auslan — the visual language of Australia’s Deaf community — from Foundation through Year 6. Through engaging activities, songs, and games, students learn to communicate using handshapes, movement, and facial expression, developing empathy, respect, and inclusion.
Learning Auslan reflects our commitment to Equity and Synergy. Students learn that communication takes many forms and that understanding difference builds stronger connections. By embracing a new language and culture, they grow in confidence, collaboration, and global awareness — living our value of Stewardship as they help create an inclusive school for all.
