School Tours 

At Banyan Fields Primary School we are committed to ensuring all students and their families feel welcome and a part of our school community. Prospective families that are interested in enrolling at Banyan Fields Primary School are invited to book a school tour using one of the links above, noting that the first link is only for our Foundation 2027 class and the second link is for all other students. We understand that this is a very important and exciting decision.

All children entering primary school must be five years of age by the 30th April of the starting year. Children who turn 5 after that date begin school the following year.

 

The Enrolment Application​

To enrol your child in a Victorian government school you will need to fill out an online enrolment form through VicStudents. Alternatively, you can request a paper enrolment form from the school office. 

 

As well as the completed form, Banyan Fields Primary School also requires the following documentation (where relevant):

• Evidence of your child’s date of birth

  • Birth Certificate if they were born in Australia

  • Passport or visa if they were born outside Australia 

• Evidence of address (e.g. utility bill or driver licence)

• Immunisation Status Certificate

• Health and welfare information

• Any other reports or information that might be useful for the school in preparing for your child's transition

Enrolment Process 

​Our school zone is available on findmyschool.vic.gov.au which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined on the basis of your permanent residential address.Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.For more information, you can:

The Department of Education (DE) has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Banyan Fields Primary School.You can find information and resources about the enrolment timeline and procedures at: Enrolling in Foundation (Prep).​What you need to do:

1. Use Find my School to locate your designated neighbourhood school (referred to as your local school) and other nearby government schools
2. Attend a school tour at your local school and any other schools you are considering
3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 31st July, 2026
4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application in early August. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should accept the offer within 2 weeks
5. Take part in information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2026

​Enrolment applications submitted after 31st July 2025 will be processed by the school as they are received, in accordance with the Department of Education's Placement Policy.
