Songbirds School Choir

The Banyan Fields Songbirds Choir has been running since 2009. We are made up of students from prep up to grade 6. The students practise twice a week, singing songs from musicals, movies and a variety of pop and rock songs, learning a combination of melodies and harmonies. The Songbirds compete at a number of competitions throughout the year which is both enjoyable and a little nerve-racking. The choir finishes the year with a performance at the BFPS Christmas Carols. All students who love to sing or love to have fun are welcome to join the choir.

School Camps

Year 2 begins the Banyan Fields camp experiences with a School Sleepover.

Camps at Banyan Fields Primary are a fun way for students to further develop self-confidence, try new and challenging things and develop friendships in a supportive environment where pushing personal boundaries is encouraged and supported. Camps usually take place during Terms 1 or 2. Parent  helpers are usually sought by our camp co-ordinators ( parents assisting on camps must hold a valid Working with Children Check ).

Each of our classrooms has composting for all organic materials, senior students are responsible for collecting and composting this material on a weekly basis.

Buddy Bench

Since 2013 our school has had the Buddy Bench. This is where our children are encouraged to sit when they are feeling left out or bullied.  If a classmate sees someone sitting on the bench they are urged to invite them to play, walk, or talk with them.
