“The object of the Council is to involve the school community in the governance of the school by providing a focus and a forum for the involvement of parents and the school community”
The council is the governing body of the school. It determines appropriate educational policies within Directorate guidelines, which will ensure that the aims of the school are achieved. In addition, Council ensures the appropriate allocation of the school’s monies and resources to meet its strategic aims.
Composition of the Council:
· 8 elected parents, up to two of which may also be employees of the Department of Education & Training.
· 2 Community members
· 4 Department of Education & Training elected employees
